Top Titans Camp Battles to Watch

Titans training camp is getting started in a couple of hours, here are some of the biggest position battles to watch!!!

Levis Vs Willis: QB2

Ryan Tannehill is QB, but who will back him up? Mike Vrabel stated yesterday in his first press conference of training camp that Malik Willis improved a lot throughout the spring. Willis struggled mightily last year with accuracy and decision-making, so this is great news. Then there is Will Levis, who the Titans drafted in the second round. Levis had a ton of ups and downs throughout minicamp, so he will have to prove himself throughout camp. Right now, it looks like Willis has a step over Levis for the QB2 job, but training camp will be the deciding factor….

Who will replace NPF at RT?

Starting Right Tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere was suspended is suspended for the first six games of the season due to a gambling suspension. This leaves a clear hole at RT for the Titans, a position of importance in a Derrick Henry led offense. Mike Vrabel stated yesterday that Jaelyn Duncan, Andrew Rupcich, and Jamarco Jones are the three options to consider at RT. Many believed that they could move Daniel Brunskill to Tackle from Guard, but it doesn’t look like that will happen. Out of those three names, Jaelyn Duncan is the one I would go with to play RT for the Titans until NPF returns. Either way, the right side of the Titans’ O-Line looks a bit shaky…..

Shudak Vs Wolff: Kicker

The Titans cut Randy Bullock in the offseason to save some cap, which only means the kicker carousel in Ten continues. This year, it will be Caleb Shudak and rookie Trey Wolff competing for the job. Shudak played one game last year for the Titans, going 3/4 and hitting all his XPS. He did miss an easy 30-yard field goal in that game though. Wolff played at Texas Tech and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Titans. Overall, Shudak should be able to win this job and be the Titans’ Place-kicker this year….
